History

In 2017, the Holding Mining Industry was formed using the entity PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum (Persero) or INALUM as the holding company that owns the majority of shares in the 3 largest mining companies in Indonesia, namely PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Timah Tbk.

Since 2019, the Holding Mining Industry has transformed into MIND ID (Mining Industry Indonesia) to differentiate INALUM's function as an operational aluminum smelter and a holding.

Now MIND ID has a new entity name, PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero), which consists of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum, and PT Timah Tbk. PT INALUM is now aligned with other MIND ID members with the aim that MIND ID will focus more on strategic holding companies, while INALUM will focus on developing national aluminum downstream.
