Bakti Senyawa 2024, MIND ID Assists Children Afflicted with Cancer

Jakarta, 21 August 2024 – Wednesday afternoon in the middle of August 2024 was not a regular day for children afflicted with cancer at the Indonesian Child Oncology Foundation or Yayasan Onkologi Anak Indonesia (YOAI). They dared to shave their hair with the hope that each hair will grow back, with new hopes and spirit.

Cancer is a health condition which is not easily faced by a person. Especially a child who should be able to play happily without suffering from tremendous pain in his body.

With the spirit of harmony in helping one another, MIND ID, or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, through its Bakti Senyawa Program, undertakes efforts to alleviate the burden from cancer stricken children by giving moral and material support.

The social responsibility activites began with the hair cutting agenda of MIND ID employees with voluntary payments. The funds collected from the employees volunteering at the MIND ID Bakti Senyawa program is donated to the Indonesian Children Oncology Foundation (YOAI).

Aside from the donation, through its CSR activities, MIND ID also provided free hair cutting, school equipment and stationeries, as well as direct funding for 50 children who were suffering from cancer.

MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Heri Yusuf, explained that the Company is proud to be able to accompany the children who were suffering from cancer.

It is hoped that the support from the MIND ID Group is able to reduce the burden as well as strengthen the spirit of the young generation of Indonesia who are struggling to fight cancer.

Heri also stressed the importance of the people understanding the special needs of the children suffering from cancer. Aside from medical assistance, they need continuing emotional support.

“We hope that our support is assisting these cancer stricken children, and able to provide a positive impact to the public, so that many will follow in donating to these children,” he said.
