BIGMIND Innovation Award, Commitment to Strengthen Digitalization of Process Business

Jakarta, 27 April 2024 – PT Mineral Industri Indonesia, also known as MIND ID, is the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, that continues to proactively utilize technological development trends. It is hoped that this will continue to support the optimal increase of added value for Indonesia’s mining commodities. 

One of the efforts made is to present various digitalization innovations in the business process, such as holding the BIGMIND Innovation Award. This competition reflects MIND ID’s commitment towards the growth of the innovation ecosystem in Indonesia. 

The socialization and registration of the BIGMIND Innovation Award begins from 27 April to 30 June 2024. The initial selection process will take place from 1 July to 7 August 2024. 

Furthermore, MIND ID, through the Indonesia Mining & Mineral Research Institute (IMMRI) continues to boost the ecosystem of innovation and research growth, specifically in the mineral and coal cluster in Indonesia. 

This is being implemented as the innovation culture of the MIND ID Group is one of the supporting factors of the company’s performance and in line with the State Enterprise AKHLAK

culture, as well as the Noble Purpose of MIND ID namely; We Explore Natural Resources for Civilization, Prosperity, and a Brighter Future. 

Currently, MIND ID, through its holding members which consists of PT Aneka Tambang (ANTM) Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (INALUM), and PT Timah Tbk (TINS), have developed digital applications in various business processes, from exploration, corporate information system, to waste management. 

MIND ID Senior Vice President Division Head of IMMRI, Ratih Dewihandayani, said that the company’s operational transformation in stages to become digital is being conducted to provide added value in all the chains of mining and mineral processing. 

She stated that the development of digitalization innovation is very important, necessitating a better research program. She added that the company is more advanced in line with the research development being implemented. 

“Through the BIGMIND Innovation Award, we are consistent in showcasing to all stakeholders that MIND ID and all Holding Members are proactively supporting innovation to continue to strengthen the digitalization of business processes to increasingly boost the added value of Indonesia’s mining commodities,” she said.

As an example, in the mining exploration field, the application currently developed by PT ANTAM called Geologging, is capable of accelerating the calculation of samples from exploration processes in mining areas. 

For environmental management, the MASTERMINE application currently being developed by PTBA is capable of processing, monitoring, and controlling mining wastewater by online means. 

Moreover, PTBA has also implemented the Corporate Information System and Enterprise Application (CISEA). This application is claimed to be able to monitor the production process and can be accessed easily by a device. 

PT Freeport Indonesia implemented an Underground Smart Mining technology that enables the monitoring and prevention of working accident risks through the use of a camera connected to artificial intelligence in the control room. 

Digitalization is not only just a sweetener but also interpreted in the business process, followed by various interesting programs which support the creativity of everyone in MIND ID,” Ratih explained.
