Danantara, through the MIND ID Group, Provides Basic Aid and Health Assistance in Sumatra, Commitment of the Country’s presence in Post-Disaster Recovery
JAKARTA – The Government continues to hasten the recovery of regions impacted by disaster in Sumatra, to ensure that each program is conducted accordingly and right on target.
Currently, the Temporary Housing or Rumah Hunian Sementara (Huntara) in Aceh Tamiang Regency has been established, and the government ensures assistance as well as the provision of basic needs are provided for the sake of the people.
President Prabowo Subianto stressed that the government will maximize assistance in order that Sumatra will recover and rebound. The Government has sufficient funds for all the needs of the people in Sumatra.
“Therefore, we are taking this very seriously and we will help all we can. We have prepared a sufficiently large budget to deal with this,” he said.
The President also ensures that Danantara and all State Enterprises will closely coordinate with the National Disaster Management Agency (Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana – BNPB), as well as regional governments, whether governors or regents, in order that the implementation of development is not overlapping and all resources can be utilized effectively.
“What is important is strict coordination. Ask the Regional Governments, ask the governors, the governors evaluate which is more important, ask the Regents, BNPB, so that our resources are really utilized,” he stressed.
Danantara is targetting the construction of 15,000 housing in three months. Each house is 4.5 x 4.5 meters and equipped with basic facilities to support the comfort of residents.
The facilities include bed, fan, cupboard, internet connection, as well as electricity to support the daily needs of the people.
Danantara houses are designed as temporary, safe residence for those impacted during the rehabilitation and reconstruction process. The provision of housing becomes one of the government’s priorities to enable people to continue conducting their daily activities.
As the government’s comprehensive step in disaster recovery, Badan Pengelola Investasi Danantara (BPI Danantara) through MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, has also supported the fulfilment of staple goods and health needs in Aceh.
The staple goods assistance include food assistance in the form of rice, sugar, milk, instant noodles, cooking oil, sardines, eggs, bread and fast food.
Medicine is also included in the assistance package of the MIND ID Group to ensure the health of the people during the recovery process. Through the assistance and health command posts, the MIND ID Group also assigned 62 personnel to assist, consisting of company employees, Emergency Response Group, and expert medical personnel.
Their tasks are not only to channel assistance and check health, but also being present in the midst of the people for mental restoration and enthusiasm.
MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Pria Utama, said that this assistance is an effort by the country to be present, to care, and to work together with the people in facing and rising up from disasters.
“MIND ID is the extended arm of the country who will continuously ensure that the people will always receive the assistance they need to recover and rise up from disasters,” he concluded.
