MIND ID Group and Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises Conduct Employee Volunteering Relay

Jakarta, 11 August 2022 – MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) dan PT Timah Tbk, has consistently put collaboration in the forefront to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  Collaboration not only in business operations, but also in the public service sector.

The MIND ID Group has an employee volunteering program that was initiated since 2020, called SENYAWA. This movement invites MIND ID Group employees to be directly involved in providing added value to one of its stakeholders, namely the surrounding communities.  The annual activities always invited the attention of up to hundreds of employees who registered themselves, although at the end, 41 participants were chosen, six from Antam, seven from Bukit Asam, seven from Timah, nine from Inalum, one from Freeport Indonesia and 11 from MIND ID.

Cicadas Village in Bogor, West Java, was selected as the site to implement the BAKTI Senyawa 2022 program, in which 41 participants for one day became volunteers in physical construction, teaching and photography documentation.

The Senyawa service is in line with the sustainability pillar which was launched by the MIND ID Group, also taking part in responding to SDGs point 4, Quality Education; point 6, Access to Clean Water and Sanitation; as well as point 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities.  Niko Chandra, Head of Institutional Relations Division explained that “The involvement of employees has encouraged the volunteering spirit and the practice of the Harmonious and Collaborative values in line with the AKHLAK Culture and also with the culture movement representing the Noble Purpose of MIND ID.”

The BAKTI BUMN program seems to trigger an employee volunteering relay for Senyawa activities. This program invites the collaboration of all State-Owned Enterprises in the implementation of Social and Environmental Responsibility Programs from State-Owned Enterprises for Indonesia.  Bakti BUMN will be implemented in 14-17 August 2022, in six regions, namely: Bakti BUMN Way Kambas (Lampung), Bakti BUMN Surakarta (Central Java), Bakti BUMN Anambas (Riau Islands), Bakti BUMN Bunaken (North Sulawesi), Bakti BUMN Badui (Banten), and Bakti BUMN Karangasem (Bali).

Inspiring others is not only the task and responsibility of teachers in schools, promoting public welfare is not only the task of the government.  It is important that employees also play a role in the midst of society.  It is compulsory for Companies and State-Owned Enterprises to play a role in supporting and expanding empowerment throughout all areas of the Country.
