MIND ID Group Assists East Nusa Tenggara Disaster Areas

Jakarta, 26 April 2021 - Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) dan PT Timah Tbk, deployed 14 rescue and medical personnel, as well as channel financial aid, medicine and staple goods to the communities impacted by the flash floods and landslides in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), in phases, from 7 April to 23 April 2021.

In the initial phase, assistance in the form of 2,000 packages of staple goods, was distributed through the Disaster Emergency Response Command Post of the East Nusa Tenggara Province in Kupang, subsequently distributed to nine Districts, Wulla Waijelu, Kiritana, Mauliru, Kambaniru, Kadumbul, Kawangu, Kambera, Melolo and Mangili.

The rescue team and medical personnel of the MIND ID Group consisted of 10 personnel from PT Bukit Asam Tbk and 4 from PT Inalum (Persero). Collaborating with the NTT Provincial Disaster Emergency Task Force, the rescue team and medical personnel of the MIND ID Group were posted at Kupang Regency from 9 to 12 and 15 April 2021.

Dany Amrul Ichdan, Director of Institutional Relations of MIND ID, said that "Assistance to handle the impact of flash floods and landslides at NTT is part of MIND ID Group's corporate citizenship in response to disasters in Indonesia. This effort illustrates the implementation of BUMN (State-Owned Enterprise) for Indonesia as well as a social development agent."

The humanitarian assistance to people impacted by the disasters is part of the social concern of the Company through the implementation of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The rescue and medical personnel of the MIND ID group with the experience and competence to handle disasters, support the speedy handling of disasters in collaboration with the related Ministries and Institutions as well as Regional Government.

"The Company also extends its appreciation and gratitude for the active support and participation of the communities in complying with health protocols during the handling of the disasters, thereby hastening the recovery of NTT Province," concluded Dany.
