MIND ID Group Raises the Quality of Education in Bangka Belitung

Bangka Belitung, 24 April 2025 – MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, continues to strengthen its commitment to the education sector, specifically in the areas around the mining operations.

Through its social responsibility programs, the MIND ID Group actively implements various assistance and development programs for educators and students.

MIND ID Group’s series of programs in the education field are in line with the program called Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo Subianto Number 4, on strengthening the development of leading and globally competitive human resources, in order to achieve the Golden Vision of Indonesia 2045.

Throughout 2024, the MIND ID Group has made significant contribution to the educational field. Through the TJSL or Social and Environmental Responsibility programs of the priority fields, scholarships have been given to 4,069 recipients, 503 teachers have been trained, community skills training have been given for 267 participants, educational facilities and infrastructures have been increased in 60 locations.

One of the leading programs which is evident of MIND ID’s contribution is the Pemali Boarding School at Bangka Belitung, operated by PT Timah Tbk since 2000.

At least 880 underprivileged and accomplished high school students from the Bangka Belitung Island Province, Riau Province and Riau Island Province have received the opportunity of developing their academic potential through this program.

In the past three years (2022-2024), as many as 69 alumnis of Pemali Boarding School were able to be acccepted in various leading universities in the country, such as ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology), UGM (Gajah Mada University) and UNPAD (Padjajaran University).

MIND ID Vice President Director Dany Amrul Ichdan, together with President Director of PT Timah Tbk, Ahmad Dani Virsal, paid a visit to the Pemali Board School Facility at Bangka Belitung, on Thursday (24/4/2025).

During the opportunity, the students of Pemali Boarding School heard stories of experience and motivation from MIND ID Vice President Director and TIMAH President Director.

Dani said that MIND ID’s commitment towards education cannot be separated from the concern of the company to continue raising the quality of human resources of people living in the surrounding areas of operation.

Especially as the company is aware of the many challenges currently faced by the young generation of Indonesia, requiring more intensive support to enable them to be ready for future competition.

“The concrete steps of MIND ID together with TIMAH in Bangka Belitung mirror the strong determination in building Indonesian civilization from the region,” he said.

To further strengthen the driving force of the program, starting in 2024, MIND ID is collaborating with TIMAH in the tutoring program for students of Grade XI and XII at Pemali Boarding School.

This program is aimed at raising the graduation number as well as boosting student acceptance at State Universities, through structured guidance with Ruangguru educational consultant. As many as 72 students have taken part in this program for the next year.

As a form of concern to the spirit and comfort of learning, MIND ID also provided educational fund assistance to each of the 108 active students of the Pemali Boarding School.

“Of course, we shall continue this program. We hope that Indonesia can produce many prospective leaders who shall, in time, bring us towards the Golden Vision of Indonesia 2045,” he concluded.
