MIND ID Group offering not only scholarships, but also job opportunities

Murara Enim, 3 November 2022 – The graduation ceremony of Group I – IV students of the Bukit Asam Mining Industry Community Academy (AKIPBA) was held on Thursday (2/11).

The graduation ceremony involved 245 students of AKIPBA, consisting of 81 graduates of the Mining Equipment Operation Engineering Study Program (T-POT), 83 graduates of the Mineral and Coal Mining Processing Engineering Study Program (T-PHT), and 81 graduates of the Mining Equipment Maintenance Engineering Study Program (T-PAT).

About 75 percent of AKIPBA graduates are employed by MIND ID Group and member companies.

PTBA Director of Human Capital (or Human Resources), Suherman, congratulated the AKIPBA graduates and hoped that all graduates continue to develop their skills and adapt to future challenges.

“On behalf of the Management, we extend our congratulations to all graduates of Group I – IV students who have successfully completed their studies. We hope that the education you have received will become the provision for all of you to seek employment or to continue studies to a higher level. Please do not stop developing yourself, particularly in these uncertain times the world and businesses are facing and the changes towards the digital era,” Suherman said in his speech.

He added that PTBA will continually commit its support to education in AKIPBA, allowing the institution to continue producing young generation who are competent and ready to work for the advancement of the Indonesian nation.

“I would also like to extend my congratulations and highest appreciation to the Director of AKIPBA, lecturers, academic advisors and the educational staff of AKIPBA for their hard work and patience. We hope that your efforts have become a blessing for you. There are still much to be done and developed for the future, I hope that you continue the work entrusted upon you and give the best to the future generation of the nation,” he said.

AKIPBA is the university founded by members of MIND ID, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), PT Inalum (Persero), PT Timah Tbk (TINS), and PT Antam Tbk (ANTM).

The university was established to represent the synergy and commitment of the MIND ID Group to manage a leading educational institute that will actively contribute to the national mining industry, expand access and equitability of the mining industry-based higher education for the people of Indonesia, as well as prepare human resources with noble morals, skilled in the mining industry and have competitive ability in the global market.

MIND ID Director of Institutional Relations, Dany Amrul Ichdan, said that “This is evidence of MIND ID promoting quality education in Indonesia, as well as opening working opportunities in the MIND ID Group area. We do not only provide scholarships, but also produce skilled and educated students as well as provide employment.”

Three study programs (Diploma 1) of AKIPBA constitute Mining Equipment Operation Engineering Study Program (T-POT), Mining Equipment Maintenance Engineering Study Program (T-PHT0, and Mineral and Coal Mining Processing Engineering Study Program (T-PHT). The Mining Equipment Operation Engineering Study Program prepares graduates to become Mining Machine and Equipment Operators.

While the Mining Equipment Maintenance Engineering Study Program prepares graduates as Mining Equipment Maintenance Operator with the competence in the maintenance of mining equipment. The Mineral and Coal Mining Processing Engineering Study Program prepares graduates to become Mining Processing Machine Operators.

Under the management of the Bukit Asam Extended Family Foundation (Yakasaba), all students in AKIPBA receive full scholarship until they graduate. “AKIPBA is the manifestation of the company’s commitment in fulfilling human resources with the competency to meet the needs of the mining industry, specifically in the MIND ID Group,” Dany concluded.
