MIND ID Provides Skills Training to the Public in Commemoration of 2024 National Education Day
Jakarta, 9 May 2024 – Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID), the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the mining sector, remains committed to executing capacity-building programs for the public through a variety of skills training initiatives.
Commemorating the 2024 National Education Day, MIND ID continues to show its commitment to supporting human resource development in Indonesia.
Such commitment takes the form of several initiatives with a positive impact on various segments of the public through skills training programs.
These initiatives are designed to increase employment opportunities and improve the quality of life for the community, particularly those who live in the surrounding mining areas.
“MIND ID is committed to continuously contributing to human resource development, including raising working opportunities and prosperity of the people,” said MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Heri Yusuf.
One of the steps taken is through MIND ID Group members such as PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) and PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (INALUM), who have conducted various capacity-building programs for the people living in the areas surrounding the companies.
PTBA, for instance, held a LAS-SMAW 4G boarding training by sending 16 people to BBPVP Serang, Banten. This training was held by cooperation between PTBA and the Training Institute of the Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatera.
The participants of this training were rewarded a national certificate from BNSP (Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi - National Professional Certification Board) after completion of the training program in Serang City. This program aimed at raising the workers’ skills to a level in which they are ready to work, following the needs of the industry.
Furthermore, PT INALUM also provided training for the public regarding work safety. The company holds training on Health and Working Safety (K3) of Heights for the youths living around the company’s smelter.
The training aimed at creating new, young, and skilled people in the Health and Working Safety (K3) of Heights. It is hoped that the program will be able to create wider working opportunities for participants in Indonesia.
Various skills training conducted by MIND ID in 2023 covered a total of 281 people.
“MIND ID continues to prove its commitment to empowering the people through education and training. This is a concrete step to create a brighter future for the nation and country,” said Heri.
