National Children’s Day, MIND ID Group Strengthens Scholarship, School, to Stunting Alleviation Programs
Jakarta, 23 July 2024 – MIND ID, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, is committed to supporting the government in maintaining the future quality of children through programs such as scholarships for children and stunting prevention.
Supporting the quality of Indonesian children is one of the Social and Environmental Responsibility programs. The MIND ID Group continues to align the program with the spirit of ensuring future Indonesian progress.
MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Heri Yusuf, explained that proactive steps need to be taken by various parties, including the MIND ID Group as a state enterprise, to continuously ensure the welfare, education, treatment, protection, and empowerment of Indonesian children.
“National Children’s Day is a momentum for MIND ID Group to strengthen the program related to the care of Indonesian children, to ensure that in the future, their voices can be heard more loudly on the global stage,” he said.
MIND ID has implemented several initiatives to improve the quality of education and children’s health, ranging from scholarship programs, education and training, the development of educational facilities and infrastructure, fulfilling children’s nutritional needs, and the prevention of stunting in children.
One such program is the scholarship program “Beasiswa Ayo Sekolah” from PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA). The scholarship is given with the aim of helping children from underprivileged families living in the surrounding areas of PTBA’s operational area complete the 12-year compulsory education program. This program has successfully supported 8.656 students from 2012 to 2024.
Additionally, PT Timah Tbk implemented the “Pemali Boarding School” program to ensure the provision of education for underprivileged but high-achieving children from the Bangka Belitung Island Province, Karimun Regency (Riau Island Province), and Meranti Regency (Riau Province).
Meanwhile, PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (INALUM) also supports the fulfillment of children’s rights through a program aimed at reducing stunting in children living around its operational area. This program includes a series of activities such as socialization of stunting prevention, a cooking school for parents, the “Bapak Asuh” program, checking of children’s nutritional status, as well as public education on children’s nutrition.
Moreover, PT Aneka Tambung Tbk (ANTAM) also supports the fulfillment of children’s rights through a local food program to alleviate stunting in East Halmahera. As many as 12 villages from two sub-regencies have been involved in the activities of processing local food to become nutritious dishes.
“MIND ID is committed to fully providing support to Indonesian children, specifically in the areas surrounding its operational areas, in order to become a valuable ally in providing added value for the future of the country, by continuously increasing the current coverage of these programs.”
