MIND ID Receives ISO 20000-1:2018 and ISO 27001:2013 Signifying Good Management of Company Operations

Jakarta, 29 December 2023 – MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, receives the ISO 20000-1:2018 and ISO 27001:2013. This signifies MIND ID’s consistency in implementing standards related to the management service system of information technology as well as stipulating the information security policy, risk assessment, and development to implement the proper security control. 

 The ISO 20000-1:2018 certificate is given by PT TUV SUD Indonesia. Meanwhile, ISO 27001:2013 is handed by SGS Indonesia. Both certificates were handed over in Jakarta, on Friday, 22 December 2023. 

ISO 20000-1:2018 concerns the stipulation of requirements for companies or organizations to apply, maintain, and continuously improve a service management system (SMS). The successful implementation of international standard technology service management by MIND ID has raised the credibility of the company. 

ISO 20000-1 was first published in 2005 and renewed in 2011. The ISO standard was fully revised in 2018 and replaced ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011. The requirements mandated in this ISO standard include planning, design, transition, delivery, and improvement of services to meet service requirements and provide value. 

ISO 27001:2013 is a standard emphasizing establishing information security policies, conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing appropriate security controls, as well as regular monitoring and review. 

Previously, MIND ID received the ISO through the entity of PT INALUM. After the split off, PT Mineral Industry Indonesia (MII) ISO returned as a form related to the information technology service management system and stipulated information security policy, risk assessment, development to implementation of the right security control.

As added information, MIND ID, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry has officially been called PT Mineral Industri Indonesia after the split off with PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium or INALUM. At the beginning, the Mining Industry Holding Company was officially formed using the PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium entity in 2017. The split-off was based on Government Regulation (PP) No 45 of 2022 on the Reduction of State Capital Participation in PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium. 

MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Heri Yusuf, stated that this achievement is the result of the company’s commitment to implementing good mining practices. Having secured two ISOs at the same time shows the performance of MIND ID in successfully running the company.

“MIND ID has adopted and standardized ICT service to ICT customers, namely the SAP MM service. At the same time, the surveillance audit 27001 certificate which is used to ensure governance related to the information security management system will continue operating in line with the international standard,” said Heri.  

According to Heri, receiving two ISOs cannot be separated from the inter-divisional solidity in MIND ID. The cooperation has produced results in which the company has been selected as recipient of the ISO 20000-1:2018 and ISO 27001:2013. 

“This achievement is a form of cooperation between divisions in MIND ID. This is MIND ID’s commitment to run the operations of the company in accordance with good governance principles,” he said. 

Based on the results of an external audit, attention is to be paid to two items. The first, 2 Non-Conformity Minor ISO 27001 in which Corrective Action Plan (CAP) on two non-conformity findings have been sent to an external auditor and will become the object of validation in 2024 surveillance. 

Second, there are 8 OFI/Observation findings with 6 specifications of ISO 27001 and 2 ISO 20000-1. These 8 Opportunity for Improvement recommendations become MIND ID’s action plan for 2024.
