Commitment of the MIND ID Group to the Environment Resulted in 11 PROPER 2024 Awards

Jakarta, 24 February 2025 – The commitment of MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, to managing a sustainable environment received appreciation from the Ministry of the Environment (KLH) and Environmental Control Agency (BPLH).

In the 2024 Environmental Management Awards (PROPER) held at the Sasono Langen Budoyo Building, East Jakarta, on Monday (23/02/2025), the MIND ID Group received 11 awards, 6 of which are gold and 5 of which are green.

PT Aneka Tambang Tbk received 2 Gold PROPER AND 1 Green PROPER, PT Bukit Asam Tbk received 2 Gold PROPER and 1 Green PROPER, and PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium received 1 Gold PROPER and 1 Green PROPER. PT Timah Tbk received 2 Green PROPER, and PT Vale Indonesia Tbk received 1 Gold PROPER and 1 special award, the Madya Green Leadership.

The PROPER Award is the highest award given by the Ministry of the Environment/BPLH as a form of evaluation of company performance in environmental management. In 2024, as many as 4,495 companies from various industrial sectors took part in this evaluation, and 2,591 companies were already declared compliant.

The program evaluates the environmental performance of companies, while at the same time, their proactive efforts in environmental conservation and community empowerment.

Minister of the Environment and Head of the Environmental Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, said that the PROPER Awards and Green Leadership become the drivers for all company to continuously improve their performance and innovation in environmental management.

He believes that this issue has become increasingly crucial in the midst of the government’s program to boost economic growth by 8% becoming achievable with environmental management well maintained. 

“This award must be able to become an example for us all, not only a symbol. This must be an example of how a leader is capable of moving all the components of the company in supporting the government’s efforts to protect our environment. The journey which, of course, is not easy for us to conduct,” he said.

MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Heri Yusuf, extends his appreciation for the PROPER 2024 Awards to the MIND ID Group. He believes that the PROPER Awards are crucial to the MIND ID Group as it is an acknowledgment of the ongoing environmental commitment and program of Group Members. 

“We are very thankful for the PROPER 2024 Awards bestowed by KLH/BPLH. This constitutes, for us, the energy to continue implementing the sustainable programs to protect the harmonization of business with the environment and nature,” he said.

Heri explained that the MIND ID Group undertakes efforts to consistently work together with the local people in implementing environmental programs.

Especially as the communities around the operational areas have the ability to implement sustainable environmental management programs and able to bring the environmental management programs to impact on their social and economic activities.

Moreover, the MIND ID Group also undertook efforts to present technology that is capable of becoming movers in elevating the environmental management program benefits.

“The MIND ID Group is always endeavoring to have the programs not only as an obligation but also ensuring that the benefits will be sustainable,” Heri reiterated.
