Commitment of MIND ID to Drive Digitalization of the Mining Industry

Jakarta, 18 August 2022 - MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) dan PT Timah Tbk, continues its commitment to optimize digitalization of the mining industry.  Currently, the MIND ID Group is developing digital applications in various business processes, such as waste management, exploration, corporate information system, and so on.

MIND ID President Director, Hendi Prio Santoso, said that: “Digitalization of the mining industry is one of the main aspects which the company pays attention to.  Operational transformation in phases towards digitalization is conducted to provide added value throughout the entire mining and processing of minerals. Moreover, the efforts are also aimed at creating optimal as well as efficient operational activities.”

Digital applications are developed with the aim of maximizing business processes and operational activities of the Company. The efficient process is in line with the implementation of MIND ID’s sustainability pillar commitment, namely smart mining, as well as commitment to the implementation of good mining practices.

In the mining exploration field, an application is currently being developed, called Geologging, which has the ability to hasten the calculation of samples resulting from the exploration process in mining areas.  This application utilizes the machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to minimize data recording errors, accelerate data collecting process and maximize drilling activities. The application is being tested at PT ANTAM Tbk.

In the field of environmental management, the MASTERMINE application is being developed, which is capable of processing, monitoring and controlling the mining wastewater treatment system virtually. The system, which is chemically and digitally integrated, can be used to raise the effectiveness of mining waste management.

The MASTERMINE application also contains an alert and notification feature which provides warning when the water quality declines, allowing faster decisions on the necessary actions to be taken.  This application is being tested at PT Bukit Asam Tbk.

PT Bukit Asam Tbk has also implemented the Corporate Information System and Enterprise Application (CISEA). This application is capable of monitoring the production process which can be easily accessed using a gadget. This application allows a more efficient delivery of mining results and easier data monitoring activities.

The MIND ID Group continues to drive the creation of ideas and renewable innovations. It is expected that the mining digitalization will enable heightened work safety for all employees and maximize productivity.  Additionally, the transformation will enable the creation of a more efficient, effective, environmentally friendly and sustainable mining environment.
