MIND ID Local Hero, For the Sake of the Family

As a Local Hero from Badau Village, Badau Regency, Zulyanti not only strives to raise local potential but also to empower women in her community.

She believes that the economic independence of women is the key to creating a better future for their families and the community.

With the support of PT TIMAH Tbk, a Member of MIND ID, the State-Owned Holding Enterprise for the Mining Industry, Zulyanti succeeded in changing Nanas Badau (Badau Pineapple) – a local icon in her village – to an economic empowerment source providing a huge impact.

Through Kelompok Usaha Masyarakat 2Y or the 2Y Peoples’ Business Group, Zulyanti and the people of the village, process pineapple to become added-value products such as jam, chips, and syrup.

“Praise be to God, through the 2Y Group, we were able to maximize our harvest results. By such processing of pineapples, the local people have a more stable alternative income,” she disclosed.

PT TIMAH Tbk fully supports this initiative through its sustainable CSR program. The company provides production tools, training, as well as assistance, which help Zulyanti’s group to raise the quality of products and expand the market.

“The facilities and training which we receive are helping us greatly. Now we are more confident in developing the product and reaching more buyers,” she added.
