MediaMIND 2023 Officially Held with Theme “Providing Added Value for Indonesia”

Jakarta, 24 July 2023 – MIND ID or PT Mineral Industri Indonesia again holds a competition for journalists throughout Indonesia. The event, called MediaMIND 2023, with the theme “Providing Added Value for Indonesia” has total prizes of Rp306 million. Four focus of sub themes in MediaMIND 2023 are Industry, Commodity, Economy and Business, as well as ESG (Environmental Social Governance).

MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Heri Yusuf, said that for industrial sub themes, the journalists are able to send their works concerning technology and innovation in the environmental field of MIND ID and its Members. For the Commodity sub themes, journalists can cover the production performance of the MIND ID Group, and its strategic projects, including the downstreaming and smelter programs.

For the Economy and Business sub themes, the focus of the articles should be related to the finance and contribution of the MIND ID Group for national and regional economy. While for the ESG sub theme, the focus of the articles should be on sustainability and Social and Environmental Responsibility programs.

“The themes are in line with the contribution of MIND ID and Holding Members. We are  committed to always provide added value for Indonesia,” said Heri.

There are four categories being contested in MediaMIND 2023, Hard News, Written Feature, Video News and Photo News. Each journalist may send articles, videos or photos which have been published in their respective media from December 2022 to September 2023.

Heri said that their entries should be submitted from 24 July to 14 September. An administrative selection shall be done on 16-18 September and results given to a pre selection jury.

“From all entries which have been submitted, 33 finalists will be chosen, who will then take part in a site visit program to MIND ID holding members, together with 9 winners and 3 best of the best,” he said.

When visiting the site, the journalists will again be writing an article which would then be evaluated by members of the jury. “It is here that we determine the winners, who will be invited to the MediaMIND 2023 Awarding Night at the beginning of December 2023,” said Heri.

MediaMIND is the second journalistic competition undertaken by MIND ID in cooperation with LKBN Antara. This year, MIND ID appointed four senior journalists and a mining observer to become jury members, Oscar Motuloh (Independent Curator, Founder of Matawaktu.org), Arif Zulkifli (Member of Press Council, also President Director of Tempo Media), Zen RS (Chief Editor of Narasinewsroom), Titin Rosmasari (Chief Editor of CNN TV Indonesia), and Singgih Widagdo (Chairman of Indonesian Mining & Energy Forum - IMEF).
