MediaMIND 2025 Invites SRE Students to Raise Sustainable Mining Innovation for the Future

MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, continues to expand collaboration with the public to boost the birth of ideas and innovation for the sustainable future of the mining industry.

Together with the Indonesian Society of Renewable Energy (SRE), MIND ID holds the Socialization of MediaMIND 2025 Journalistic Works with the theme “MIND ID for a Sustainable Future”.

The event which was held virtually on Wednesday (9/10/2025) was followed by more than 230 students who are members of the Indonesian SRE from various universities throughout Indonesia.

This activity becomes the place of learning and discussion on the strategic role and innovation of the mining industry, which continues to innovate in supporting national energy transition and strengthening of green economy.

SRE Indonesia Chairperson, Reiner Nathaniel, said that MediaMIND ID has become an important  event to expand the perspective of the young generation towards Indonesia’s mining sector.

“We believe that MediaMIND can prevent various misconceptions, strengthen accountability, while at the same time, raise sustainable innovation which is beneficial for the mining sector,” he said.

According to Reiner, the mining industry has an important role in line with the increasing need for clean energy and green technology development.

There are many technology development in support of renewable energy, which need mineral products such as nickel, copper, and bauxite for production.

That is why he believes the downstreaming program being promoted by the government is an important step to be continued.

Furthermore, Rainer added, the success of downstreaming will not only impact on raising the added value of minerals and industrial competitiveness, but also creates a chain reaction towards economic growth and the absorption of local workers.

Reiner also underlined the application of Good Mining Practices (GMP) which have already been adopted widely in the mining sector in Indonesia.
