MediaMIND Becomes Unsri Student Vehicle to Polish Journalistic Skills

1 September 2025

Palembang – Sriwijaya University (Unsri) rendered its appreciation on the implementation of MediaMIND conceived by MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, together with PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA).

MediaMIND Journalistic Competition is considered as an important vehicle for students to polish journalistic stills, while at the same time opening outlooks on the role of the mining industry in developing the national economy.

Sriwijaya University’s Assistant Rector III Student Affairs, Radiyati Umi Partan, in her speech, explained that the world of journalism has a big role in documenting each incident, including programs of MIND ID and all Holding Members.

She believes that each initiative of the company will not be meaningful if there is no publication able to voice its benefits to the greater public.

“MediaMIND is a very valuable experience for students. This activity provides room to write well, feel, as well as convey messages in the form of beautiful journalistic works. We hope that students will be able to utilize this opportunity as best as possible for their future,” she said.

She also emphasized that documentation and publication are important in the academic as well as professional world.

With MediaMIND, students not only learn to write the news, but also understand how narration can affect the way the public sees the benefits of a program, including the mining industry’s contribution for the people.

“This is no longer the time to work without publication. The media is the facility to show what has been conducted, so that the knowledge and benefits are felt by the greater public. Through this activity, students can learn directly from the experts and practitioners,” she added.

Furthermore, Unsri hopes that MediaMIND activities can continue and provide positive impact, not only for students, but also for the public, universities, and MIND ID Group.

She is certain that the involvement of students in this program can give rise to new talents in the journalistic field, capable of supporting the nation’s development narration.
