MIND ID Posts Positive Performance Growth in 2021

Jakarta, 7 April 2022 - MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) and PT Timah Tbk, posts positive performance throughout 2021.  The extremely favorable operational and financial performance growth in 2021 illustrates the commitment of the Company, which manages one of the strategic sectors capable of supporting the strengthening and recovery of Indonesia’s economy in the midst of the pandemic condition.

In 2021, the global economy responded more positively to the improving control of the pandemic conditions.  The same also applies to Indonesia, which reflected economic improvements compared to 2020.  MIND ID, of course, implemented the strategic policies of good governance of the mining industry operations adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic.  MIND ID Group’s accelerated production and sales effectivity by harnessing the momentum of the global commodity price improvement, have supported the extremely favorable performance growth of the Company in 2021, with Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) of Rp28.06 trillion, or an increase of 149% compared to 2020 of Rp11.26 trillion.

With the effectivity of production and sales performance of all MIND ID Group’s mineral commodities, from gold and precious metal refining services, coal, tin metal and tin solder, aluminium, ferronickel and nickel ore, the Company posted gross profit in 2021 of Rp26.41 trillion, and operating profit of Rp16.67trillion. In 2021, MIND ID posted net profit of Rp14.33 trillion, or an increase of 687% compared to 2020 of Rp1.82 trillion.

MIND ID President Director Hendi Prio Santoso said that “The achievement of positive performance growth of the Company is supported by the synergy of all MIND ID Group employees in implementing the strategic plans which had been set forth.  Operational innovations have been executed to raise cost competitiveness, moreover, the Company also paid due attention to new opportunities supporting the future growth of the business.”

MIND ID mencatat total pendapatan sebesar Rp93,75 triliun pada tahun 2021 atau meningkat 40% dibandingkan 2020 sebesar Rp66,57 triliun. Tiga kontributor terbesar pendapatan perusahaan berasal dari komoditas batubara, emas dan timah masing-masing sebesar 32%, 28% dan 13%. Sedangkan aluminium berkontribusi 9%, feronikel 7%, bijih nikel 5% dan lain-lain sebesar 6%.

MIND ID posted total income of Rp93.75 trillion in 2021 or an increase of 40% compared to 2020 of Rp66.57 trillion.  Three major contributors to the income of the Company came from coal, gold and tin commodity at 32%, 28% and 13%.  While aluminium contributed 9%, ferronickel 7%, nickel ore 5% and others 6%.
