MIND ID and Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Promotes Strategic Synergy to Safeguard Vital National Mining Regions

Jakarta, 16 October 2023 – MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, and the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday (16/10/2023). The cooperation signed by the Ministry of ATR/BPN and the President Director of PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero) aims at promoting the synergy between MIND ID and the Ministry of ATR/BPN in the efforts to support the programs of MIND ID as one of the national vital objects.

MIND ID President Director Hendi Prio Santoso expressed his thanks and appreciation for the collaboration between the Ministry of ATR/BPM and MIND ID. “It is important for us to get the support of the Ministry of ATR/BPN to enable problems related to land aspects within the MIND ID Group to be settled,” said Hendi Prio Santoso.

He hopes that with this collaboration, MIND ID will be able to implement its task as the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry and the sake of the country. 

Minister of ATR/BPN Hadi Tjahjanto also welcomes this collaboration, mentioning that it is important to safeguard the country’s assets. “I welcome this cooperation aimed at safeguarding the country’s assets,” said Hadi Tjahjanto.

He said there had been many reports from the public on the legalization of land to the Ministry of ATR/BPN, but rejected it as the land is registered as a state asset. He hopes that through this cooperation, the problems of assets within the MIND ID Group can be resolved satisfactorily.

The cooperation between MIND ID and the Ministry of ATR/BPN would be, among others, accompaniments of Spatial Utilization Activities (Kegiatan Pemanfaatan Ruang – KKPR), land procurement for public interest, development of Human Resource competencies, and exchange of data or information. Furthermore, MIND ID and the Ministry of ATR/BPN will also cooperate to strengthen mining governance.

One of the concrete cooperation to be implemented is the synergy of mining region spatial planning. MIND ID and the Ministry of ATR/BPN are cooperating to conduct spatial planning of the mining region for optimal and sustainable utilization.

This agreement also supports the commitment of MIND ID, as the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, to manage the mineral potential for the creation of a better future for Indonesia.
