MIND ID and Telkom University Sign MoU to Upgrade UKM (Small Medium Enterprises)

Jakarta, 7 March 2022 – MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) and PT Timah Tbk, together with Telkom University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Education, Research and Community Service as well as development in the Mining, Social and Environmental Fields.

The MoU is a strategic initiative of MIND ID in the efforts to promote the Small Medium Enterprises (UMK) under its partnership program. Director of Institutional Relations, Dany Amrul Ichdan. and Telkom University Rector, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya S.Si., M.Si, signed the MoU in Bandung, 7 March 2022.

MIND ID’s Director of Institutional Relations, Dany Amrul Ichdan, said that “The signing of the MoU reflects the commitment of MIND ID to develop local potential – the Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) under its partnership program.  Telkom University, aside from supporting the promotion of the Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) under the partnership program of the MIND ID Group, can also make these SMEs as part of the research.”

Telkom University Rector, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, S.Si., M.Si. said that “Telkom University is committed to become a research and entrepreneurial university actively playing a role in the development of technology, science, and information technology-based art.  The MoU constitutes an effort on the part of Telkom University to contribute to the nation through research work based on the needs of industries and the public.”

MIND ID Group’s sustainability program takes into consideration six pillars of the Sustainability Pathway, namely, Environment & Climate Change, Smart Operation, People, Community & Society, Economic Development dan Governance.  The MoU is expected to strengthen two of the above pillars, namely, Community and Society dan Economic Development.

The Community and Society Pillar depicts MIND ID’s facilitation of community involvement and supports development initiatives that provide long term benefits, while Economic Development represents the efforts to develop the local economy.  Therefore, it is hoped that the mentoring, counselling, digital application, and business incubation of the SMEs under the partnership program, will play a role in the development of the local economy.

To date, the MIND ID Group is developing the clustering of the SMEs under its partnership program as follows: Trading with 3,339 active partnership members; Agriculture with 881 active partnership members; Service with 870 active partnership members; Livestock & Fishery with 637 active partnership members; Industry with 625 active partnership members; Plantations with 209 active partnership members.  The active partnership members of the MIND ID Group total 6,561 members.

In the 2020-2021 period, 501 active partnership members have been promoted, namely: 12 partnership members of ANTAM; 360 partnership members of Bukit Asam; 15 partnership members of Inalum Operating; and 104 partnership members of TIMAH.

The Mining Industry Holding was officially formed on 27 November 2017, with PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) as the holding company with majority shares in four largest mining companies in Indonesia, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Timah Tbk and PT Freeport Indonesia.

On 17 August 2019, the Mining Industry Holding was transformed into MIND ID (Mining Industry Indonesia) to differentiate the functions of INALUM as Holding and as Operational company.
