MIND ID Urges Human Resources Become the Backbone of the Future for Mining Industry in Indonesia

Jakarta, 23 May 2025 – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, through point four of Asta Cita, the eight missions towards Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision, stressed the importance of human resource development in order to become the backbone to enable the creation of strong and sustainable economic growth.

MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, also strengthens its commitment to develop human resources as the main pillar which supports the transformation of the sustainable national mining industry.

The total number of employees within the MIND ID Group – consisting of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Timah Tbk, and PT Vale Indonesia Tbk – has reached 69,258 people at the end of 2024.

The number reflects the scale of contribution of the MIND ID Group’s human resources to study, grow and contribute to the advancement of the national mining sector.

As part of the implementation of the commitment, MIND ID participates in the Ministry of Manpower’s 2025 Job Fair on 22-23 May 2025 at the East Plaza of Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta.

MIND ID and all Group Members have consistently implemented transparent and fair recruitment program as a show of commitment to good corporate governance. This is also an effort of the company to ensure that in future, mining industry employees have the best intelligence and spirit.

MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Pria Utama, stressed that human resource is the main foundation and an important asset for the success of all downstream programs and industrialization currently implemented by the MIND ID Group.

“MIND ID has consistently presented integrated human resource development programs in order to ensure mining employees have high competitive ability in the global scene,” said Pria.

He gave as an example the MIND ID XPLORER program, a management trainee program to select the best young talents of the country, preparing them to become future leaders with strategic and high integrity outlook.

There is also the BIG MIND program which is not only a forum for MIND ID Group employees, but also allows opportunities for the general public in Indonesia to introduce the latest innovation that can provide added value for the industry as a whole.

Moreover, MIND ID is also proactive in implementing its program called Goes to Campus, aimed at raising the knowledge of students on the opportunities and challenges of the mining industry sector in Indonesia.

“The innovative spirit shown through such programs is actual evidence that human resource is the main strength of MIND ID in facing future industrial challenges,” he continued.

Pria added that MIND ID will continue to strengthen its human resource development initiatives, not only to enable significant impact on the company, but also national development as a whole.

“The programs which have been running well will be continued and enhanced. We believe that investment in human resource is a long term investment to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision,” he concluded.
