MIND ID Group Succeeds in Suppressing Stunting and Raising Public Health

Jakarta, 10 July 2024 - MIND ID, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, continues to raise the quality of health of the people living in the surrounding areas of its mines. This commitment is realized by MIND ID and Members of the Holding Group with the implementation of its Social and Environmental Responsibility program in the field of health.

MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Heri Yusuf, said that MIND ID Group’s commitment to raising the quality of people’s health is one of its social and environmental responsibility programs which is continuously strengthened by all Holding Members.

“The health program of the MIND ID Group endeavors to proactively bridge health access, which is still a challenge in Indonesia, by providing quality and easily accessed health services for the people living in the surrounding areas of the company’s operations.

“We want to assist the government in supporting more equitable access to healthcare for the people of Indonesia,” he said.

Heri assures that the program being implemented is impacting on raising the health quality of people, from medical service, stunting prevention, and better access to clean water, to sanitation.

As an example, the Sentul Community-based Housing and Clean Water Access Improvement in Cicadas, Bogor, which is implemented by MIND ID, not only provides infrastructure but also raises awareness of the importance of sanitation and health.

“The program is here to help the community who lack access to clean water, proper toilets, and decent housing. During 2023, 443 families received assistance with access to clean water, and four families now live in decent homes,” said Heri

This step was also taken by another Member of the Holding Group, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM) with its Kampung Bestari (Berani Sehat Sanitasi Resik) program in Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, to raise health and sanitation with the construction of 5 septic tanks.

Furthermore, ANTAM also conducted a local food fulfillment program to reduce stunting in East Halmahera. As many as 12 villages and two districts were involved in the processing of local food into nutritious dishes.

PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (INALUM) also conducted similar actions to reduce stunting in Batu Baru Regency, North Sumatera. This program targets 2 villages and covers the socialization and education of stunting prevention, cooking training for parents, the “Bapak Asuh” or foster father program, strengthening of the Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) caderization, to exercises for pregnant mothers.

Innovation in health is also conducted by PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) through its Mobil Kesehatan Keliling (Mokesling) or Mobile Health program for underprivileged people living in Ring 1 of Tanjung Enim Unit. Mokesling is being conducted to provide free health service which covers doctor’s examinations as well as medication, with as many as 12,589 people receiving the benefits.

The same goes for PT Timah Tbk (TINS) who is implementing various programs from healthy mobile service, ambulance unit service, assistance in medication costs to handling of stunting in the areas around its operations. During 2023, as many as 42 villages were covered by the healthy mobile service and 4,371 people received the benefits of the service.
