MIND ID Strengthens Leading Regional Human Resources to Ensure Downstreaming Impact

JAKARTA - MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, continues to strengthen its strategic role in creating actual impact from the downstreaming process, not only for the creation of national economic added value, but also to raise the quality of human resources in the areas surrounding its operations.

This move is evidence that the downstreaming efforts of MIND ID are capable of touching the most basic lives of the people, and in line with the spirit of the government in raising sustainable economic sovereignty and welfare.

MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Pria Utama, stressed that to manage the country’s mineral wealth, the MIND ID Group has a strategic responsibility to ensure that the benefits of the downstreaming efforts are directly felt by the people, especially in the regions.

This is realized through the community development programs integrated in the Social Responsibility of the Company.

“We are present to accompany the young generation in the regions in generating a higher competitive advantage. Downstreaming efforts must create social transformation, not merely economic growth. This is in line with the Asta Cita vision of President Prabowo,” he said.

Throughout 2024, Pria explained that in the South Sumatera and Lampung regions, the MIND ID Group have channeled scholarships to 121 students through cooperation with three local polytechnics.

The result, as many as 150 skilled workers were able to be channeled to various lines of business of the MIND ID Group. This program not only opened access to quality vocational education but also directly responding to the needs of companies.

What’s more, this initiative is an actual contribution to suppress the poverty rate in Ring 1  operational areas, while at the same time boosting growth of the new mid level class in the regions.

The MIND ID Group has a Basic Mechanical Course (BMC) program initiated by PT Bukit Asam Tbk for pre-prosperous youths in Lawang Kudul Regioncy, Muara Enim, South Sumatera.

From this program, 11 participants where chosen to take part in a three month intensive training to provide them with the technical skills relevant to the needs of industries, and ready to enter the working world.

The BMC program not only gave birth to skilled workers, but also has become the generator of local economic growth, as each independent individual brings changes to the environment where he lives. 

Pria stressed that all of the initiatives are in line with the government’s legal trust and strategic mandate to MIND ID.

Not only to mine and purify minerals, the MIND ID Group purifies hopes through actual programs in raising capabilities of human resource in the regions.

“We are aware that building civilization is not enough with infrastructure. The key is people. Therefore, our programs were designed to ensure that the downstreaming benefits are really creating a new and more advanced civilization,” he concluded.
