Ensuring Operations in Accordance with Good Mining Practice, MIND ID Organizes Mining Engineering Managers Summit

Bali, 14 December 2022. The MIND ID Group, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry in Indonesia, with members PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) and PT Timah Tbk, implements its mining operations in accordance with Good Mining Practice (GMP) principles. This is evident with the Mining Engineering Managers Summit in Bali, 12-14 December 2022.

The event, which was attended by Engineering Managers from all MIND ID Members, became a forum involving the government, companies, communities, media and academicians, to cooperate in building synergy and collaboration between MIND ID and the Government, while at the same time discussing strategic issues in implementing good mining practice in the MIND ID Group.

MIND ID’s President Director, Hendi Prio Santoso, welcomes this event as a collaborative forum between the Company and its stakeholders. “The presence of a representative from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as Technical Advisor of mining activities in Indonesia, is expected to provide inputs and strategic directions in implementing better GMP in future,” he said.

The Summit this year with the theme “Achieving Sustainable Mining Operation Through the Implementation of Good Mining Practices in MIND ID”, was attended by more than 80 participants, including the Mining Inspector Manager, Director of Operations and Production of all MIND ID Groups, as well as Mining Engineering Managers and Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Managers in MIND ID.

This event was also a good opportunity to share best practices, challenges and remedial plans to improve the implementation of GMP of each Holding Member, and similar industry players. As added information, GMP has five main aspects, namely: Mining Engineering, Conservation, Mining Safety, Environmental Protection, Standardization & Services.

MIND ID’s Director of Operations and Portfolio, Danny Praditya, invited all participants to be willing to collaborate to make a reality of the mutual vision. “Let us collaborate in facing the challenges faced by the implementation of GMP in the operational activities of the MIND ID Group to contribute to Indonesia,” he disclosed.

The safety logo, the icon of MIND ID, was also launched at the event. The logo with the tagline “Prevention is our number one Intention” becomes the joint spirit that prevention is the main commitment in creating occupational safety within the MIND ID environment.

It is hoped that this will become our effort in creating a safe and secure working environment, thereby lessening the probability of accidents on the job due to negligence which result in demotivation and deficiency of work productivity.

“MIND ID is committed to create a working culture that prioritizes safety. High production has no meaning if fatality occurs. This is our resolution for each aspect of the Company’s operations. We hope that this spirit will not fade after this event is over,” Danny concluded.
