MIND ID Channels Support from Sumatra to Sulawesi to Honour Independence Fighters

JAKARTA – Eighty one years after Indonesia’s independence, the fighting spirit of veterans is still an important part of the nation’s history. Independence enjoyed by Indonesian people today is borne from the struggles, courage, and service of heroes who defended the sovereignty and integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

To honour their services, MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, and Group Members, have channeled support to the Veterans League of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI), veteran widows, and military widows in various territories from North Sumatera, Riau Islands, South Sumatera, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, to South Sulawesi.

Commemorating the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, MIND ID has given support in the form of thousands of basic needs packages as well as mobility support facilities for veterans such as wheel chairs and walking canes. The support was handed over symbolically by MIND ID Director of Human Resource and Corporate Transformation, Pambudi Soenarsihanto, to the representative of the DKI Jakarta LVRI Regional Council, on Friday (28/8/2026).

Pembudi said that independence commemoration becomes the right momentum for remembering and also appreciating the heroes who have laid the foundation for the establishment of Indonesia as an independent and sovereign nation.

“The fighting spirit of veterans is a valuable legacy for the Indonesian nation. MIND ID and all Group Members want to ensure that the values of these struggles remain alive and become the inspiration for the coming generation in maintaining the unity, strengthening the nation’s independence, as well as completing the independence with actual contribution for Indonesia.”

Pambudi stressed that respect to veterans is not only created through social concern only, but also through the commitment to maintain the value of unity, service, and love for the country which has been inherited from the freedom fighters.

“This is the actual step of MIND ID people as the next generation to appreciate the services of veterans. We hope that the spirit of struggle that they have passed down can continue to live and become a reminder that independence must be filled with work, service, and unity.”

Chairman of DKI Jakarta LVRI DPD, Marsda TNI Sri Budjono expressed his appreciation on the attention and support of MIND ID and all Group Members to veterans and families of veterans.

“Such attention becomes a reminder that the spirit of the nation’s struggles must continuously be inherited and realized through actual contributan in developing Indonesia,” said Sri Budjono.

For MIND ID, the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia is not only a momentum to remember the history of the nation’s struggle, but also a chance to reaffirm the spirit of unity and mutual cooperation which have been inherited from the fighters. Such values are believed to be the important foundation in creating an increasingly sovereign, just and prosperous Indonesia.
