MIND ID Commemorates 78th Mining and Energy Anniversary with Downstreaming Education Event

Jakarta, 13 October 2023 – To commemorate the 78th Mining and Energy Anniversary, MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, held an event on the booth deck at Sarinah Thamrin, Jakarta, 13-15 October 2023. The event is one of the efforts aimed at introducing mining in Indonesia, specifically MIND ID’s actions in the world of mining in the country.

A number of events were held, and visitors were entertained at the games booth with themes from mining, installation, photos, and informative video on mining practices, to social media competition.

On the booth deck, people were educated on Indonesia’s mining downstream products of members, PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT INALUM, and PT Timah Tbk.

Heri Yusuf, Corporate Secretary of MIND ID, or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, said that in the commemoration of the 2023 Mining and Energy Anniversary, MIND ID stresses the importance of educating the people on the commitment of the MIND ID Group in supporting the target of the government towards the Golden Indonesia 2045. 

“One of the tasks which are currently being accelerated by MIND ID is the downstreaming of Indonesia’s mining industry. MIND ID is at the forefront of the mining sector’s downstreaming efforts,” said Heri Yusuf in Jakarta, Friday, 13 October 2023.

Heri said that downstreaming is one of three mandates given by the government to MIND ID. A series of strategic projects which have been completed or are in the process of completion by the MIND ID Group is among the downstreaming efforts.

Through members of the company, covering PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT INALUM, and PT Timah Tbk, MIND ID continues to implement the mining industry’s downstreaming efforts with the aim of providing added value for Indonesia in mineral and coal utilization.

“The seriousness of MIND ID in handling various strategic mining industry downstreaming projects become a tribute in welcoming Golden Indonesia 2045. MIND ID continues to provide added value for Indonesia,” he said.

MIND ID has experienced an increase in various aspects since Erick Thohir became the Minister of State Enterprises in 2019. The commitment towards downstreaming is a concrete step in realizing the vision of “Advanced Indonesia”.

Moreover, in the commemoration of the 2023 Mining and Energy Anniversary, MIND ID took part in the tree seedlings distribution program called Gotong Royong Boyong Pohon, initiated by the Ministry of State Enterprises, in dealing with the air pollution in Jakarta and its surroundings.

MIND ID prepared 5,000 seedlings which were later distributed freely to MIND ID event booth deck visitors. “Of course in celebrating the 2023 Mining and Energy Anniversary, MIND ID truly supports and is committed to dealing with air pollution problems in Jakarta, one of which is with the Gotong Royong Boyong Pohon program,” he said.

The distribution of seedlings is carried out during Car Free Day on Sunday, 15 October 2023. Aside from getting free tree seedlings, people can also take part in campaigning the importance of planting trees as part of the efforts to deal with air pollution.

“The people who received the seedlings will later be directed towards the photobooth while carrying the seedlings. They can then take photos with the tree seedlings,” he said.
