BUMN (State-Owned Company) Bakti Volunteers Batch VII in Mempawah Continues Until Remote Villages
Mempawah, 18 February 2025 – The BUMN Bakti Volunteers (RBB) Program Batch VII of West Kalimantan at the Mempawah Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) National Strategic Project in Mempawah Regency continues.
As many as 15 State Enterprise (BUMN) employees chosen as volunteers are again engaging in social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) activities, focusing on the fields of environment, education, and Small Medium Enterprise (UMK) coaching.
Remote locations, difficult terrain, and the harsh weather have not discouraged the spirit of volunteers running this social mission, to ensure that the communities feel the presence of the country in providing actual impacts.
MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Heri Yusuf, said that on the second and third day of implementation, the RBB Batch VII Program of West Kalimantan is very appealing as they have to cover quite challenging regions.
“Nevertheless, we are thankful that the implementation of the program on the final two days has run well and also received the appreciation of the communities receiving the benefits in the surrounding areas of operations,” he said.
The activities on the second day consisted of educational activities, conducted through fun education at Pelosok 22 Jalandang Elementary School, Negeri 15 Elementary School, and Negeri 17 Elementary School, with a total of more than 100 students. MIND ID took part in providing assistance in the form of one unit of sun panels and 150 school bags for elementary students who are in need.
In the field of environment, the RBB Batch VII Program of West Kalimantan on the second day, conducted river ecosystem conservation in the vicinity of the water intake area of Duri River, Bukit Batu Village, by distributing endemic fish seeds together with 15 local fishermen. MIND ID handed out assistance of 10,000 carp fish seeds, 10,000 catfish seeds, 30 life jackets, and two units of boat.
On the third day, the RBB Batch VII Program of West Kalimantan conducted a digital marketing workshop participated by 22 Micro Small Medium players in Bukit Batu Village.
The workshop covered training in making creative content in social media, product branding, as well as product photography techniques in order to raise competitiveness in the digital market.
MIND ID also donated 22 units of live set vlog tripods to assist in improving the content quality produced by the UMKM players.
Moreover, MIND ID provided a cracker-cutting machine and 20 cleaning tools to the UMKMs in the processing of silverfish crackers at Bukit Batu Village.
The program to raise the production standard is expected to support the quality improvement of local products, in order to compete in a wider market.
The last day of activities was closed with a Fun English program, in which 50 Elementary and Junior High School students from Bukit Batu Village took part. The volunteers used interactive games to teach English, with the aim of promoting the communication skills of students, while at the same time developing their confidence.
Heri explained that the involvement of MIND ID in the RBB Batch VII Program reflects the commitment of the Company to providing sustainable social impact.
“We are proud to participate in the BUMN Relawan Bakti activities. This program is evidence that the presence of PSN SGAR is providing a direct impact to the communities around the operational areas as well as the local communities,” he said.
