In the Forefront of Sustainable Business, MIND ID Receives Katadata Green Initiative Award 2023

Jakarta, 2 October 2023 – MIND ID, or the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, receives the Katadata Green Initiative Award, which is part of the Sustainability Action for the Future Economy (SAFE) 2023 at the Grand Ballroom Kempinski, Jakarta, Tuesday (26/9/2023). MIND ID receives the award for the Energy/Mining category. 

The Green Initiative Award is an annual event held by PT Katadata Indonesia aimed at facilitating collaborative actions of various stakeholders, in uniting with the mission of Indonesia becoming a sustainable country.

Corporate Secretary of MIND ID, Heri Yusuf, welcomes the award given by Katadata to MIND ID. He believes that the award will become a trigger for the spirit of the MIND ID Group in providing actual contribution in the energy or mining sector, by practicing good mining and sustainable practices.

“This award is, of course, an encouragement for MIND ID to continue contributing to the practice of sustainable business.  MIND ID, together with its member companies, continues its commitment to support the target of zero carbon emission of the government. We continue to give added value for Indonesia,” said Heri in Jakarta, on Monday, 2 October 2023.

In line with the vision of MIND ID to become the leading natural resource company with a strong commitment to people and the environment, the approach to MIND ID’s sustainability is the basis of the company to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals as part of MIND ID’s Noble Purpose, “We explore natural resources for civilization, prosperity, and a brighter future”.

MIND ID and its group of companies have successfully implemented environmental conservation efforts. These include PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) which has consistently conducted efforts to conserve coral reefs at Pahawang Island, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung. Moreover, PTBA has conducted the reclamation of 2,146.83 hectares of former mining lands throughout 2022. 

Member of MIND ID Group, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), has also conducted an environmental conservation effort through the planting of 4.99 million trees on 4,541 hectares of former mining land, river basin and coastal area.

Environmental conservation efforts have also been conducted by PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), with the planting of 2.6 million mangroves on 450 hectares of land. PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (INALUM) also planted 606 thousands seedlings throughout 2022.

Moreover, PT Timah Tbk (TINS) has planted 18,100 mangrove seedlings in several operational territories spread throughout Bangka-Belitung. PT Timah Tbk also developed the Kampoeng Reklamasi Air Jangkang or Air Jangkang Reclamation Kampoeng to become a tourist destination at Bangka Island.
