TIMAH Initiates Nature-Based Training Center to Develop Human Resources of MIND ID Group
Bangka, 29 March 2022 – PT Timah Tbk, member of MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding Company for the Mining Industry, is initiating a transformation of its Bangka Island Outdoor (BIO) Learning and Development Center at Bangka on Tuesday, 29 March 2022. The reactivation of its learning and development center facilities managed by PT TIMAH Tbk (TIMAH) is one of its human capital transformation efforts.
BIO is expected to produce State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) human resources who are leading with AKHLAK Core Values as well as other cultural values of the Company, with the ability to respond to future challenges and business dynamics.
MIND ID Director of Institutional Relations, Dany Amrul Ichdan, said that “Since the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (KBUMN) initiated the transformation of the BUMN Learning Center/Corporate University, Research Center, dan Innovation Center functions in 2021, BIO as TIMAH’s Learning Center integrated in MIND ID, took part in the transformation to strengthen the governance of the learning and development center as well as internalize the AKHLAK values with the nature concept.”
PT TIMAH Tbk Director of Human Capital, Yennita, said that “As a cultural learning and development center, BIO will be utilized by internal as well as external stakeholders of the Company. The reactivation of this facility is expected to support the human resource transformation which is an inseparable initiation in the transformation efforts conducted by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises.”
Established in 1993, Bangka Island Outdoor (BIO) has succeeded in raising the capacity and capability of thousands of human resources at PT TIMAH Tbk (TIMAH) and other state-owned enterprises. Located north east of Bangka Island, two hours away from Pangkal Pinang, TIMAH’s Learning and Development Center is knowned as the ‘kawah candradimuka’ legendary crater of the mining and tin processing industry in Indonesia with the nature/outdoor learning concept. This is in line with MIND ID Group’s commitment to sustainability.
Promoting the concept of experiential learning, with six main facilities called: Kampung Nelayan (Fishermen Village), Pantai AKHLAK (AKHLAK Beach), Marina Bay, Camping Ground, Outbound Arena and Kampung Melayu (Melayu Village), BIO has transformed into one of the leading facilities for development and research of the MIND ID Group in the mineral and coal cluster of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises. Additionally, State-Owned Enterprises from other clusters can also utilize BIO’s facilities to fortify and internalize AKHLAK values.
