MIND ID Continues State-Owned Enterprise Transformation and Drive Digitalization of the Mining Industry

Jakarta, 31 October 2022. MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the State-Owned Enterprise Holding Company for the Mining Industry, with Members PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) and PT Timah Tbk, have realized the transformation of State-Owned Enterprise with the optimized digitalization implementation in the mining industry. The MIND ID Group is currently developing digital applications in various business processes, from exploration, corporate information system, waste management and so on.

MIND ID’s President Director, Hendi Prio Santoso, said that: “Digitalization of the mining industry has become one of the main aspects which comes under the attention of the Company. Operational transformation to digital is being conducted in stages to provide added value in all chains of mining and mineral processing.  Moreover, the efforts are also aimed at optimizing as well as making operational activities more efficent.”

Developing digital application is aimed at maximizing the business process and operational activities of the Company. The efficient process is in line with the commitment of MIND ID’s sustainability pillar, which is smart mining and the commitment to implement good mining practices.

Recently, Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Underground Mining Digitalization at PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI). The Underground Smart Mining technology allows PTFI to monitor and prevent the risks of accidents at work through the optimal use of a camera connected to artificial intelligence, controlled at the control room.

Underground Smart Mining would also be able to drive the application of a more environmentally friendly technology, operate with lower emission, therefore reducing the impact to the environment.  Another feature is the availablility of low latency which supports the monitoring process of activities on a real-time basis, in which all data can be integrated to create a safer working process.

In mining exploration, PT Antam Tbk is currently developing an application called GEOLOGGING, which is capable of accelerating the sample calculation resulting from exploration process in the mining areas.  This application uses machine learning technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) which can minimize data recording errors, elevate data collecting process and maximize drilling activities.

In environmental management, PT Bukit Asam Tbk is currently developing the MASTERMINE application which is capable of processing, monitoring and controlling the waste water processing system online.  The system, which is chemically and digitally integrated, is able to raise the effectivity of mining waste management.

The MASTERMINE application also has alert and notification features which give warnings in the event of lower water quality, allowing the necessary actions to be decided faster.

PT Bukit Asam Tbk has also implemented the Corporate Information System and Enterprise Application (CISEA). This application, which is capable of monitoring the production process, can be easily accessed by a gadget. This application allows a more efficient delivery process of mining results and facilitates data monitoring activities.
