Employee Volunteering ala MIND ID GROUP: Company Doubles Employee Donation

Jakarta, 27 August 2021 – In commemoration of Indonesia’s 76th Independence Day, MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) and PT Timah Tbk, conducted an Employee Volunteering program called SENYAWA Kemerdekaan. Thousands of MIND ID Group employees purchased t-shirts, after which MIND ID doubled the amount received from the sales.

Total sales of the t-shirts and top-up of the Company came to Rp 746 million which was converted into 1,493 packages of donations and 100 packages of vaccines. The donations were handed to the Indonesian Veterans Legion - Legium Veteran Republik Indonesia (LVRI) - located in the surrounding areas of MIND ID Group’s operations. The donation was symbolically handed over in a virtual ceremony on 27 August 2021 to the Chairman of the LVRI DPP, Laksda TNI Purn Ir Chaerul Huda, MM.

MIND ID Director of Institutions Relations, Dany Amrul Ichdan, said that, “The MIND ID Employee Volunteering program is part of the cultural movement of the MIND ID Group as the manifestation of its Noble Purpose. The company supports the volunteering activities of employees which are aligned to the social responsibility program of the Company. Such involvement is an indication of the concern of all MIND ID Group employees, specifically concerning social issues.”

As many as 1,087 t-shirts have been purchased by MIND ID Group’s employees, the sales of which came to Rp 163 million. MIND ID doubled the purchases by the employees, thereby generating Rp 746 million, and donated in the form of SENYAWA Kemerdekaan packages. The donation will be distributed to the LVRI’s of North Sumatera, Bangka Belitung, South Sumatera, West Java, Papua and the Jakarta LVRI DPP, and supplemented by 100 packages of the Covid-19 vaccines.

Chairman of the DPP LVRI Laksda TNI Purn Ir Chaerul Huda, MM, said that: “LVRI expresses appreciation to the employees of the MIND ID Group in donating through the SENYAWA Kemerdekaan program to the veterans, particularly those who have been affected by Covid-19. The program is regarded as being expressions of the empathy and mutual assistance spirit to help one another, which is part of the Indonesian nation’s culture we all need to maintain. LVRI also intends to use part of the donation for the people affected by Covid-19 who need it more, as an effort to support the program of the Government in reducing the Covid-19 pandemic cases.

The Senyawa program is a volunteering program involving employees of the MIND ID Group and is implemented three times a year. The book donation program called ‘Senyawa Satu Buku Satu Kebaikan’ has been implemented in August 2021 and managed to collect donations of 4,000 books which were handed to the Reading Gardens (libraries) in all the operational areas of the MIND ID Group.
