MIND ID Group Optimizes Level of Domestic Components

Jakarta, 28 April 2022 – MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) dan PT Timah Tbk, optimizes the Level of Domestic Components throughout all of its operational activities, including the Micro Small Enterprises under the Stewardship Program of the Company.  Currently, the MIND ID Group has achieved about 55% Level of Domestic Components.

MIND ID Director of Institutional Relations, Danny Amrul Ichdan, said that “As a Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the mining industry, MIND ID continues to optimize the use of Domestic Components for the operational activities of the Company, including Micro Small Enterprises under its Stewardship Program.  The Company also encourages MIND ID Members to pay due attention to the Level of Domestic Components in accordance with the directives of State-Owned Enterprise Minister Erick Thohir, to support the Government’s program in the use of local contents in order to boost the growth of domestic industries.”

MIND ID Group also optimizes the use of local content in the Micro Small Enterprises under its Stewardship Program.  The Company continues to encourage the acceleration of these Micro Small Enterprises through cluster approaches, such as Trade, Services, Industry, Agriculture, Livestock and Estates clusters.  This program is implemented through the process of selection, mentorship in compiling business plans, raising their capacity and providing working capital through the Micro Small Enterprise Funding Program scheme.

“MIND ID also undertakes efforts to promote Micro Small Medium Enterprises to become part of the Company’s supply chain in accordance with the directives of the President and State-Owned Enterprise Minister,” Dany added.  Currently, the Micro Small Enterprises who are already part of MIND ID Group’s supply chain are, among others, from the agriculture, fishery and industry clusters.

During 2020-2021, there were more than 6,500 partners under the Stewardship Program, 501 of which have management to accelerate.  MIND ID Group’s target for 2022 is accelerating 285 of these to a higher level.

The Level of Domestic Components constitute the local content of goods and services, or a combination of goods and services, manufactured in Indonesia.  This refers to Government Regulation number 29 of 2018 on Industrial Empowerment.

The Mining Industry Holding was officially formed on 27 November 2017, with PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) as the holding company with majority shares in four largest mining companies in Indonesia, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Timah Tbk and PT Freeport Indonesia.

On 17 August 2019, the Mining Industry Holding was transformed into MIND ID (Mining Industry Indonesia) to differentiate the functions of INALUM as Holding and as Operational company.
