Presence of Indonesia’s Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry at the Minerals and Mining Industry Conference

Bandung – 30 November 2022. MIND ID, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, takes part in “The 1^st Indonesia Minerals & Mining Industry Conference – Expo 2022”, with the theme Critical and Strategic Mineral to Support Nasional Industry, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, on 29-30 November 2022, at The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung, West Java.

The event, opened by the Chairman of Commission VII of the People’s Representative Council, Sugeng Suparwoto, was aimed at optimization and collaboration among stakeholders, to build, strengthen, and develop leading and highly competitive mineral-based national industrial products.

MIND ID and Members: PT Antam Tbk., PT Bukit Asam Tbk., PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero), PT Timah Tbk, took part in the two day event, to introduce the role of the Holding State-Owned Enterprise in the Mining Industry, to the public and its contribution to the surrounding areas.

Acting Director General of Minerals and Coal, M. Idris F. Sihite, was very enthusiastic with the expo in which 17 participants joined.  He hopes that the Expo will be able to educate and promote the mining industry in Indonesia.

“We hope that the national seminar and the expo will be able to provide a more complete education to the public,” Idris said.

PT Antam Tbk, together with Butik Emas LM (LM Gold Boutique), sold gold, as well as construct digital gold safety deposit boxes, as one of the solutions for secure investment.  PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) showcased several concentrated commodity products, and SME products.  Factsheet information on the role of PTFI for Indonesia, specifically the Papuans, was also presented.

PT Inalum (Persero) showcased aluminium inggots, alloy and billet products. While PT Timbah Tbk. and PT Timah Industri, aside from bringing their leading products and innovation, also presented the products of SME’s under their stewardship program.

Aside from MIND ID Holding Members, IBC Battery was also present to support the acceleration of battery-based electric vehicles.  MIND ID also invited Gesit, maker of battery-based electric motorcycles designed by Indonesians.

MIND ID’s President Director, Hendi Prio Santoso, said that “The presence of MIND ID as the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry and Members reflects the commitment to explore natural resources for civilization, prosperity, and a brighter future.”

“What is showcased in the booths by the MIND ID Group shows the never ending commitment to make a priority of the downstreaming efforts of the mining industry to increase added value,” Hendi added.

As added information, one of the strategic steps of MIND ID in developing downstream products by accelerating the reliability of production, is with INALUM. Currently, INALUM and EGA (Emirates Global Aluminium) are in the process of conducting a feasibility study in the use of EGA technology at INALUM’s smelter in Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatera, in the efforts to raise production up to 400,000 tons per year.
