MIND ID in collaboration with PB PASI to support Indonesian athletes

4 January 2023

Jakarta, 04 January 2023. MIND ID is committed to continue supporting Indonesian athletes competing in domestic as well as in international  events.  This is evident from the support of MIND ID to the Executive Board of the Indonesian Athletics Association (PB PASI) to implement the athletic coaching program in Indonesia.

The support was announced at the inauguration of the “Indonesian Athletes Coaching Collaboration” event held at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 January 2023, attended by the Chairman of PB PASI, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, and MIND ID President Director, Hendi Prio Santoso.

“Thank you to MIND ID who has made this collaboration a reality. It is with a sense of happiness for me and the members of the Executive Board as well as PB PASI for the golden opportunity afforded to athletes, coaches and managers, which will be implemented soon,” said Luhut in his speech.

It is hoped that this collaboration will bring competitions in the regions on an equal basis, in order to seek hidden talents, specifically in the athletic sports, in 34 provinces.  At this time, PB PASI is also in the process of building a Training Center in Pangalengan, West Java. The Natonal Athletics Training Center is constructed on 10 hectares of land at 1,400 meters above sea level and will become an international standard one stop service training center for athletic sports.

“I hope that the facility, with all its completeness, will be able to motivate athletes to undergo maximum training and display prestigious performance to raise Indonesia’s good name in international circles,” Luhut added.

MIND ID provides funding of Rp 10 billion to supprt PASI programs, in the hopes that this sports organization will be able to assist the Government in producing leading and highly competitive human resources.

MIND ID President Director, Hendri Prio Santoso, said that, “The support is in line with the sustainability pathway which has become the commitment of the MIND ID Group, specifically in the People pillar. The presence of MIND ID, as part of the State-Owned Enterprises group, is a state agent of the nation’s development, and one of the pillars which need to be developed is Human Resources. Moreover, we believe that sports is one of the means in bringing about togetherness and unity.”

Aside from athletics, MIND ID, through its Member, PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), also participated in developing football talents, specifically for the Eastern Provinces of Indonesia, Papua, through the presence of the Papua Football Academy which was inaugurated by Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, some months ago.

“MIND ID and all of its Members continue to provide added value to communities in the surrounding areas of its operations.  We hope that the presence of MIND ID is able to provide added value, instill continuity and building civilization,” Hendi concluded.
