MIND ID Innovation Competition Invites Public to Respond to Mining Industry Challenges

Jakarta, 3 June 2022 – MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) dan PT Timah Tbk, came to Media for the BIGMIND Innovation Award roadshow on 3 June 2022. This innovation competition is aimed at start-ups, academicians, research and development communities and mining employees, to respond to the high complexities of the mining industry’s challenges and dynamics.

Business Development Director, Dilo Seno Widagdo, said that “We hope that this innovation competition will be able to motivate Indonesian researchers and innovators to develop their critical thinking and heighten their creativity. At this time, the world needs more creative people to face future challenges.  MIND ID continues to focus on various innovations in the existing mining landscape.”

Boosting Innovator and Greenovator in the Mining Industry (BIGMIND Innovation Award 2022) is the 4^th MIND ID innovation competition, following the previous successful event.  MIND ID innovation competition is able to hone the talents of the country’s youths in producing numerous ideas and innovations, as well as making the mining industry business process more efficient, effective, environmentally friendly and sustainable.

“We invite those from many circles in this competition.  MIND ID asks the public to be thinking critically and hopes that each participant will be capable of seeing the opportunities from problems, specifically in the mining industry.  Always producing solutions capable of responding to challenges and at the end, becoming added value for the Company,” Dilo added.

As many as 450 participants attended the BIGMIND Innovation Award 2022 roadshow di Medan. The theme of the talkshow was the Application of the Appropriate Technology for Sustainable Green Industry Process, and attended by MIND ID Director of Operations and Portfolio, Danny Praditya, Special Staff of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) for infrastructure and investment development, Triharyo Indriawan Soesilo, with moderator PT Inalum (persero) Engineering Department Head, Edi Mugiono.

The BIGMIND Innovation Award 2022 is open to all circles to join and send their innovation creatiions. 12 of the best teams have the opportunity to win a total prize of Rp900 million. The team whose work is able to respond to the challenges of the Company and can be implemented within the MIND ID Group environment, will also get the chance to take part in the incubation program.

The BIGMIND roadshow will subsequently be held on 17 June 2022 by webinar with the topic Industrial Process and Digitalization. The roadshow will be taken to Makassar 24 June 2022 with the topic Exploration and Mining, which will present practitioners, experts and business players who will provide information concerning Indonesia’s mining industry.

MIND ID is optimistic that the presence of CCUS technology and innovation project development capable of reducing the carbon value, will result in a greener earth and natural conservation.  This innovation reflects one of MIND ID’s culture supporting the performance of the Company and in line with the AKHLAK or Core Values of State-Owned Enterprises.
