MIND ID and Andalas University Agree to Development Community and Society

Padang, 13 June 2022 – MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, with members PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero) dan PT Timah Tbk, and Andalas University, sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Education, Research and Community Service as well as development in the Mining, Social and Environment fields.

The MoU is a reflection of MIND ID’s commitment to the public, specifically in the field of education.  MIND ID Director of Institutional Relations, Dany Amrul Ichdan, and Andalas University Rector, Prof. Dr. Yuliandri S.H., M.H. signed the MoU in Padang, 13 June 2022.

MIND ID Director of Institutional Relations, Dany Amrul Ichdan, said that “The signing of the MoU is an action stemming from the commitment and responsibility in accordance to MIND ID’s Noble Purpose, aimed at the welfare and lives of all layers of society, one of which is in the field of innovation in order to support the future of the mining industry in Indonesia.”

Andalas University Rector, Prof. Dr. Yuliandri, S.H., M.H. said that “As one of the oldest universities in Sumatera, since 1955, Andalas University is ready to contribute positively in the innovation and implementation of technology and digitalization to contribute to the nation through research based on industry and public needs.”

In line with the sustainability program of the MIND ID Group which pays due attention to six pillars of the MIND ID Sustainability Pathway, one of which is Community and Society, MIND ID hopes that the MoU will be able to accelerate the development of human resources through education, training, certification, job practice and/or teachings to develop competencies.

This MoU adds to the list of universities which had previously collaborated with MIND ID. “We hope that this MoU will enable the creation of ideas and innovation in the mining industry, social development and environmental management through research and service,” Dany concluded.

On MIND ID

The Mining Industry Holding was officially formed on 27 November 2017, with PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) as the holding company with majority shares in four largest mining companies in Indonesia, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Timah Tbk and PT Freeport Indonesia.

On 17 August 2019, the Mining Industry Holding was transformed into MIND ID (Mining Industry Indonesia) to differentiate the functions of INALUM as Holding and as Operational company.
