Emergency Response Action By MIND ID Group Concerned With Victims Of Disaster

Jakarta, 21 October 2022. Various natural disasters have hit several locations in the country, from floods caused by extreme weather conditions to earthquakes. The MIND ID Group has again provided aid to victims, to express its social and environmental responsibility, in the areas surrounding the operations of the Company.

A tornado has hit the Pejem Sub-village, at Gunung Pelawan Village, District of Belinyu, Bangka Regency (15/10/2022), destroying scores of houses of the local people. Some of these houses were still liveable, however needing serious repairs, and some were totally destroyed. PT Timah Tbk donated food and materials to repair the houses impacted by the disaster.

Bangka Sea Production Unit Secretary handed over the aid to the Gunung Pelawan Village Head, Tjhiung Kim, on Monday (17/10/20222). The quick action on the part of PT Timah Tbk, is a commitment in assisting the local people requiring help.

“We have alerted various stakeholders as well as institutions, and thankfully, PT Timah Tbk responded quickly to assist our community,” said Tjhiung.

Sopora Village, in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, also experienced a similar disaster. Bad weather and strong winds caused several large trees to be uprooted, hitting the houses of the local people (17/10/2022). The readiness and concern of PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) Tbk Kolaka Nickle Mining Business Unit, in dealing with the disaster, is appreciated by Sundu Bao, Head of the Sopura Village.

“Recently, several of our people had the misfortune of large trees hitting their houses due to strong winds. This happened during the night. I immediately contacted Antam and, thankfully, they came in the morning to visit the site, appraising the situation, and subsequently donating the necessary aid,” Bao disclosed.

PT Antam Tbk donated tin roofing, cement and other building materials. The villagers welcomed the aid and, together, repaired the houses that were destroyed in order to be liveable again.

A different story emerges from North Tapanuli region, when at the beginning of October 2022, the region was hit by an earthquake.  PT Inalum (Persero) channelled various humanitarian assistance for the victims of the earthquake.

PT Inalum (Persero) responded quickly by taking part in the post disaster recovery in the areas surrounding the operations of the Company. Staple goods and 108 medical items were donated to the North Tapanuli Hospital.
