MEDIA MIND 2022 Winners Announced, MIND ID Appreciates Contribution of Journalists

Jakarta, 08 Desember 2022 – MIND ID, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, handed out awards to journalists who are the winners in the MediaMIND Journalistic Competition. The MediaMIND Awards Night at was held at Soehanna Hall South Jakarta (08/12). The duration of the national competition was one month, from 9 September to 27 November 2002, with 4 categories being competed, from photo journalism, hard news, to video and features.

MIND ID’s Director of Institutional Relations, Dany Amrul Ichdan, explained that the event is one of the steps of MIND ID as part of Indonesia to give appreciation and foster good relations between the company and the press.

“The MediaMIND 2022 Journalistic Competition is a moment to foster closer friendship between MIND ID and Members of the Mining Industry Holding with journalists and the media whom we have collaborated and partner with. We extend our greatest appreciation to everyone in attendance, whether representatives of the media, jury panel, and journalists who have whole heartedly taken part in the competition and become part of this event,” said Dany.

The MEDIA MIND 2022 Journalistic Competition is an expression of MIND ID’s appreciation to Indonesian journalists who have assisted MIND ID in disseminating information on mining development in Indonesia and consistently publish positive news and sustain moments in Indonesia’s world of mining. In the journalistic competition format, MEDIA MIND 2022 presents the theme “Mining for Life” and the sub-themes: Accelerating the Growth of Exploration and Production; Digitalization of the Mining Industry; Building Global Scale Downstream Assets; Strategic Alliance for Downstream Business Expansion; Optimizing Portfolio and Sustainability.

Participants are journalists from the media in Indonesia. They can enter the competition by selecting one of four categories: Hard News Article; Feature Article; Television Content; Single Photo. As many as 180 entries have been received from 75 journalists. The entries constitute 74 hard news, 32 features, 13 television content and 61 journalistic photos.

In the evaluation process, the jury panel consisted of four figures close to the media and mining industry, Wisnu Nugroho (Kompas); Komaidi Notonegoro (Executve Director of ReforMiner Institute); Oscar Matullah (Head of the Museum and Journalistic Photo Gallery Division of ANTARA News Office); and Carlos Pardede (Executive News Producer at SCTV).

Wisnu Nugroho, member of the Jury Panel and also Chief Editor of Kompas.com, said that the media in Indonesia at this time has the function to screen information through its journalistic code of ethics.  The media, therefore, require verification status. That is why MIND ID must spread its good company spirit to the media which have been verified.

“Media is a group which disseminate information based on a code of ethics. The media, therefore, is an institution that is able to conduct verification.  Journalists plays such an important role, namely, to convey knowledge and understanding and not alarm the public,” Wisnu said.

The event which was conducted on Thursday, 7 December 2022, also invited several Chief Editors from prominent media in Indonesia, sudah as Maria Yuliana Benyamin (Bisnis Indonesia); Irfan Junaidi (Republika); ME Aditya Laksmana Yudha (Beritasatu); Dudi Rahman (Dunia Energi); Akhmad Munir (LKBN ANTARA); Titin Rosmasari (CNN Indonesia); Riki Handayani (Rakyat Merdeka).
